Being Well in Utah

Gallop polls recently published their findings on their 2009 Nation-wide survey of "well-being" in all 50 States.

For the survey they interviewed about 350,000 adults on six areas of wellness: life evaluation (how is your outlook on life now and for the future), emotional health, work environment, physical health, healthy behaviors, and access to basic necessities.

It should be no surprise that Utah is ranked number 2 as the state with the most well-being, it's probably due to the great influence of BYU Wellness participants making, healthy and positive changes in their lives. On a similar note, Utah actually scored best on the "Work Environment Index."

Of the 185 metropolitan cities surveyed, Provo ranked 4th for overall well-being, 4th for physical health, and 3rd for life evaluation. (Learn more here).
